Philosophy:
My general approach to counseling is relational in nature. I understand individuals within the context of their various relationships, both contemporary and historical. With this in mind, it is very important to me to facilitate a sense of safety, comfort, and connection in therapy with the hope of building a trusting relationship in which we can address all manner of mental health, relational, and life concerns. In addition to my relational view of individuals and their concerns, I also draw largely from cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, person-centered theories, positive psychology, and a number of other evidence-based practices to work with each person to find what works best for them.
